Tech1 has done a good job

Du bon boulot pour Tech1

The Andalusian circuit of Jerez hosted the last phase of the ALPS 2015 championship this week end. It was the Tech1 team's third participation in the championship this season with IMOLA to start with and PAU in the inter season.

A week before the Eurocup final, the teams' main objective was to check and improve the set-ups already programmed.

On friday, the team was able to analyse their choices with two pratice sessions. Anthoine came 5th in the morning session, and 2nd in the afternoon.

On Saturday the Formules Renault 2.0 were free for 15 minutes of qualifying. The exercise went so well that our driver obtained the pole position. With the start of the race at 13:45, Anthoine got off to a similar start as the drivers around him, but took the lead in the first turn. After 17 laps in the lead, Anthoine crossed the finish line victorious, with the best lap time as a bonus.

On sunday morning at 9:30 it was the second qualifiying, and last night's showers left the team wondering about the tires. The session was disturbed by two red flags, and Anthoine finished 4th without having a clear lap. At 13:45 in race 2, after 3 laps Anthoine tired to overtake Ben Barnicoat (GB), who was in the lead because of Martin Kodric's penalty for a chaotic start. In this manoeuver, a slight contact between the two enabled the russian Matevos Isaakyan to slip through and left Anthoine's nose gear "modified". Anthoine, being extra careful after the incident, managed to maintain the pressure on the russian, who crashed a few laps later. After going off-track, Anthoine managed to preserve his second place.

In Anthoine's words : " We can hear to work and we're satisfied at what we've accomplished and the information we've collected during these three days. A pole position, a victory and a best lap time on saturday are signs of a good performance I think that on Sunday without the incident we could have done better. But it's not the end of the world, being on two podium is very positive for the team. We will stay on site to work on the details for next week end. Thanks to this week end we know where we stand and we can't wait to be next friday... "
