Rebelle andalousie

Rebellious Andalusia

For the second of his three wintry trial sessions, the GP3 had an appointment with the track of Jerez de la Frontera. Despite its reputation of sunny region, Andalusia offered all the colors of the weather range. On the mornings of the two trial days, the track was oily, wet, and hard to dry, » Anthoine observed, « We had to adapt to the weather: we took advantage of the beginning of the mornings to run in pieces and take some marks knowing they will evolve next. »

100 laps don’t lie

At the end of the morning and after the lunch break, Anthoine and his team, ART Grand Prix, could unfold the roadmap without pitfall. The Frenchman signed the best time on the first day congratulating for his consistency. « The positive point is that I was in the top three spot all the time, whatever the conditions were, as at the Castellet. »

On the second day of rolling, Anthoine could succeed near 100 laps and do race simulations, sweeping all the aspects of a typical GP3 weekend and being at the first places. « Almost 100 laps! I could try the tyres in a qualifying configuration or on long relays trying to find the long-term performance while preserving the tyres. I’m fully satisfied of the result. With my new three partners, everything goes well and with the quality of the ART Grand Prix’s work, we should be able to fight for the title once again in 2018. »

Barcelona in the line of sight

On 17 and 18 April, Anthoine will find back the wheel of his GP3 in Barcelona for the last general rehearsal before the beginning of the Championship, on 11 May on this same Catalan track. « I hope Barcelona will validate the work done this winter: they will be the last trials and we’ll have to set up before the opening round in Barcelona. These trials will be the most relevant of the mid season because they will happen in the same conditions as the first race » Anthoine concluded.
