Trois meetings en juillet
Anthoine Hubert s’apprête à enchaîner trois week-ends de course au mois de juillet. La première manche aura lieu le week-end prochain sur le circuit du Red Bull Ring, un tracé que le jeune Français connaît pour y avoir couru en Formule 3 la saison dernière. « C’est un circuit qui peut paraître simple avec des enchaînements de virages à 90° et des lignes droites. Mais c’est précisément avec ce genre de configuration que l’on peut gagner ou perdre pas mal de temps, en entrée comme en sortie de virage », prévient le Chartrain.
Préparation à la Bourguignonne
Il y a un mois, Anthoine avait quitté le Hungaroring avec un goût d’inachevé lors des ultimes essais privés de la saison. L’exploitation des pneus sur un tour lancé de type qualificatif n’était pas optimale. Pour tenter de percer le mystère des gommes Pirelli qu’il découvre cette année, Anthoine s’est rendu en Bourgogne, dans l’antre de son équipe, ART Grand Prix. « Avec mon ingénieur et le directeur technique de l’équipe, nous avons épluché toutes les données des courses de Barcelone et des essais du Hungaroring. La bonne nouvelle est que nous avons mis le doigt sur le problème », rassure Anthoine, « Mais trouver ne fait pas tout, il faut maintenant mettre en pratique ces bonnes résolutions dès les essais libres du Red Bull Ring pour partir du bon pied en Autriche ».

Sur les hauteurs de Spielberg, Anthoine se fixe pour principal objectif de retrouver les premières lignes de la feuille des temps. « Et de marquer de gros points pour moi et pour l’équipe. Il est important de repartir d’Autriche avec un bon capital points et d’être sur une bonne dynamique pour cette séquence de trois week-ends de course ! ».

Three meetings in July
Anthoine Hubert is preparing his three weekend races in July. The first round will take place the next weekend on the Red Bull Ring track, a track the young Frenchman knew very well for having driven on it in Formula 3 last season. “It’s a track which may sound easy with sequences of 90° turns and straight lines. But it’s precisely with this kind of configuration that we can win or lose a lot of time at the beginning or the end of turns”, warns Anthoine.
A preparation « à la Bourguignonne »
A month ago, Anthoine left the Hungaroring with a half-done tastefully throughout the last private trial of the season. The tyre exploitation on a qualifying quick lap wasn’t ideal. In an attempt to uncover the mysteries of the Pirelli’s gum he discovered this year, Anthoine went in Bourgogne, in the den of his team, ART Grand Prix. “With my engineer and the technical director of the team, we studied all the data of the Barcelona tracks and of the Hungaroring trials. The good news is that we found the problem”, Anthoine reassures, “But to find it isn’t enough, we now have to apply this good resolution since the Red Bull Ring free trials to start out on the right foot in Austria”.
Ask for the programme
On the hill above Spielberg, Anthoine set a goal to join the first lines of the timesheet again. “And to score big points for me and my team. It’s important to come back to Austria with a good point capital and to be on a good dynamic for this sequence of three weekends of race!”.
